Offering Bowl Sets
Ref: OB1
The seven bowls placed on the shrine are symbolic offerings to the Buddha. They represent (from left to right) water for washing hands, water for bathing the face, flowers, incense, drinking water, food and music. The light offering is represented by a butter lamp. Usually saffron is placed in the three bowls containing water, while rice - with the appropriate offerings placed on top - is used in the other four bowls. Offerings are usually made in the morning.
